A click step in a guide opens on a close-up of the click. Long lists in the library and the editor panels scroll in a fixed box. Captions no longer gain words over silence, and caption lines stay within 42 characters. Remove all fillers no longer offers ordinary words as fillers. The toolbar popup no longer turns on the microphone and camera when it opens. Deleting a recording also deletes its music file.

The Upgrade view lists the ways to pay: card or PayPal, and Visa or Mastercard in Pakistan and Bangladesh, where PayPal is not available. Errors show in place, next to the control that caused them, and short notices float over the page without moving it. Panels, lists and messages open and close with short motion. With reduced motion turned on in your system, they change at once. The founding code is copied only when you pick 12 months or lifetime, the passes it applies to.

The editor works like an editor. X deletes, I and O mark a range (Shift+I and Shift+O trim), J, K and L shuttle, H and . step a frame, and every change has undo and redo and is kept as a draft. Speed per range: 1.25x, 1.5x, 2x and 4x on a selection, with the pitch kept. Speed up pauses plays silences over a second at 4x (Pro). Annotations with a time range: text, arrow, highlight box and step number, drawn into the saved video. Blur and pixelate are free without limit; Free keeps three other annotations. Draw the cursor from the recorded path, with smoothing, hiding when idle, a click ring and a size (Pro). Save as 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5 at 720p, 1080p or 4K, never larger than the recording. A cropped picture follows the zoom or the cursor, and a range can have its own crop. 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 and 4K are Pro. The camera is recorded as its own file next to the screen. In the editor it has a bubble with a circle or rounded square shape, four sizes, a corner, and stretches where it is hidden or fills the picture. The preview is free; saving a layout other than the recorded bubble is Pro. Recordings made before this keep the bubble in the picture. Each added recording can be trimmed on its own with an In and an Out time. The music file stays with the draft after a reload, up to 40 MB. Pricing lists the editor's Free and Pro limits row by row. Join recordings in a row, reorder them, even out the loudness, mute a range, and put music under the voice with a level and a fade-out (Pro). Make a guide from the recording's clicks inside the editor, turn guide steps or markers into chapters, copy them for YouTube, and pick a poster frame that becomes the thumbnail of the saved copy. Saving a guide as Markdown or one HTML file is free on every plan. PDF and Word files, handbooks, and copying a guide of more than five steps for Docs or Notion need a paid pass. Free guides carry no Made with Takelight line. A Pro kit can add one. The first click after the browser has put Takelight to sleep is no longer lost. A step whose picture could not be taken says so on the guide. A handbook asks once before it includes guides made with Start guide. A guide that is still being captured cannot be opened for editing until Stop is pressed. The all-sites permission asked by Start guide is given back when the guide does not start. Start guide is available in Firefox. A founding price code can be shown on the Upgrade tab, and a renewal code beside Buy again when a pass has ended. Start guide in the popup captures a guide as you click through a task in a tab: each click, typed field and page change becomes a step with a screenshot, and no video is recorded. Step titles are written from the page: Click Save, Type in Email, Select Monthly in Plan, Open Settings, Go to example.com/billing. Copy the guide for Google Docs, Notion or Confluence with the pictures inside, or save it as one HTML file that prints cleanly. The picture of a step can be cropped and zoomed, with box, arrow and blur and undo and redo. The guide is the home. An outline of steps with pictures and edited and blurred dots sits on the left, one card per step in the middle, and details with export on the right. Steps drag into order in the outline, and Alt with an arrow moves one. Edit picture opens on the step's picture: crop, zoom, box, arrow, blur and text, with undo and redo. Every tool also works from the keys. Enter edits the title, Del removes the step, and Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z undo and redo edits on the guide page. The popup leads with Start guide, then Record video, the last three guides and Open library. Video options sit in their own fold. The library lists guides first, with steps, date and search. Free shows how many of its ten are used. At ten guides on Free, Start guide says what Free keeps and offers Pro. The 7-day Pro trial starts with the first guide. Spoken words fill the title of a step only when its element has no name. Box, arrow, text and Replace picture are free. Free keeps ten guides; video recording, Word and PDF files and handbooks are Pro. Guides have no step limit. The trial line no longer lists what Pro was used for. The listing no longer names auto-zoom, the spotlight, filler-word removal or GIF export. Nothing is counted or sent any more. The suggestion form is now an Email us link. Import a video file (MP4 with H.264, WebM with VP8, VP9 or AV1) from the Recordings page. Takelight proposes a step for each change of screen, and for each pause in the speech if you ask, and all of it is done on your computer. Files that cannot be used, such as MKV, MOV, H.265, a file with no video or one that is too large, are refused with the reason, and Cancel stops an import with nothing left behind. An imported video is marked as not reviewed in Before you share, and exports wait until you tick Checked for private content. The privacy policy states that imported video is analysed on your computer only. Add a step from any moment of the recording, at the position you choose. The h and l keys move the recording back and forward by one second on the guide page. A step you added can be moved, retitled and deleted, and the delete can be undone. Importing shows the proposed steps before anything is saved, each with a tick, its time and an editable title. The count shows how many steps are ticked. A sensitivity slider on the proposed steps changes how much has to change on screen to start a step. Spoken step titles drop hesitation sounds and opening words such as so, okay, allora and also. Retitle all on the guide page cleans every title in one step, and Undo brings the old ones back. On the guide page j and k move from step to step, e retitles, x deletes with Undo, and ? lists the keys. Place point on an imported step: click the picture to set the ring and use the close-up. Saving a video, a GIF or the original file from an imported video asks once until Checked for private content is ticked. Document style for HTML, PDF and Word files: a cover with the title, date and step count, and numbered circles on the pictures where a step has a point. Pro. Guide search on the Recordings page finds a word in the steps and sections of every guide. Handbook saves ticked guides as one zip with an index page. Pro. Replace picture on a step swaps its picture for a PNG, JPEG or WebP file, and Undo brings the old one back. The step waits for Checked and exports ask once until then. Handbook uses each guide as it is stored when you press it, so a picture, title or review tick changed in another tab is respected. Retitle all no longer removes units or words such as mm from titles you wrote. On the proposed steps, edits survive moving the slider, Enter with nothing ticked does nothing, and Esc moves to Cancel before it leaves. A step added from the timeline keeps edits made while its picture was being read. Handbook links work for guide titles with a # in them. Undo of Replace picture removes the new picture when no old one could be read. Replace picture takes PNG, JPEG or WebP only. The trial-end summary names document style, handbooks and replaced pictures. The privacy policy lists every usage event and every kind of data kept in the browser, and states 30 days for uninstall notes. The pricing page and store listings name the same Free and Pro limits as the app.

A recording's card no longer shows a black picture. Downloading the raw data of an unfinished recording asks once while the blur did not cover a stretch. GIF export and file downloads ask once while the video shows a stretch the blur did not cover. Takes recorded before this version get the same check before you share. A quick export that cuts an uncovered stretch is made precise, so none of it stays in the video. The Follow this tab across sites switch keeps its position between visits. The draw hint no longer appears on the recorded page unless the recording chip is on. A take recovered after an interruption keeps its click count, so the editor's click-based zoom is offered. The gap lines are also kept in the recording's note. Before you share panel on the guide page lists each step the blur did not cover, with Cut and Box. Export asks once while a step is not covered. Cuts of private stretches do not count toward the free cut limit. Saving an edit keeps the guide: the steps still in the video, with their pictures. Steps in cut stretches are left out and counted. A retake keeps the capture record, the gaps and the cuts of the original.

With Blur sensitive info on, a move to a site the recording cannot cover pauses the recording and says why. Allow on all sites or Resume without blur continues. Frames resume only after the new page is covered, so no readable text from the next page is saved. A saved take lists the stretches where clicks were not captured or blur was off, on the card and in the guide, with a jump to each. Follow this tab across sites, asked once at Start and released at Stop.
